Ingredients

  • 5.78 oz. butter, softened
  • 2.25 oz. sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 5.63 oz. flour
  • 3.52 oz. jam, strawberry or cherry

Directions

  1. Beat butter with sugar and vanilla sugar until fluffy. Stir in the egg yolks. Add the flour and knead quickly into a smooth dough. In clear plastic wrap, let rest in a cool place for about 30 min.
  2. Form little balls, a bit larger in size than big marbles, from the dough. Press a slight hollow into the middle of each of those dough balls (using a wooden spoon handle) and fill with jam.
  3. Brush the edge with a little cream and egg yolk.
  4. Place the Husarenkrapfen on a baking sheet, with some distance between them (they will still rise a bit). Bake in the oven for about 15 minutes until golden brown.
